GLOSSARY OF ABBREVIATIONS AMAZON II

Date

In response to your interest, we are back with the second part of Amazon's glossary of abbreviations.

We are happy to help you build your ideal business in this way too!

So, to the specifics: we have included the following buzzwords below. Our experts have selected them so that you have both the most popular and the most problematic at hand.

ODR- Order Defect Rate- the rate of defective orders. It is one of the key assessments as it determines your ability to provide customers with a positive consumer experience. The ODR takes into account all orders that contained at least one defect and is a percentage of all orders processed in the last 60 days.
OSS- Out of Stock- out of stock, i.e. the product is not available in stock. In such a situation, it is advisable to replenish your stock quickly. For OOS persisting for more than 14 days, Amazon may penalise you by lowering your BSR (Best Seller Rank), which in turn entails lower visibility of your listing in search results.
PO- Purchase Order (Agreement)- a contract for the purchase of goods, in other words, a type of order confirmation in which, among other things, the commercial conditions are included.
PPC- Pay per Click- Generally PPC refers to a wide range of advertising opportunities for a particular product on the Amazon platform. Literally, PPC describes a special type of marketing cost, billed as a pay per click on your ad.
PLS- Private Label Seller- is one of the many business models on the Amazon platform. The products you sell are branded with your brand in this model and sold that way. This is one way to limit competition on a particular product page.
EN- Packing List. This is created by your supplier to let you know what products are in the delivery. You will need this information, for example, when dealing with customs or the forwarding agent.
QC- Quality Control/ Quality Check-is quality control. A popular process especially in China, where quality control is even carried out at several stages - during production, after completion or on receipt from the supplier.
RoAS- Return on Ad Spend- the actual profit relative to the amount spent on advertising on the Amazon platform.
ROI - Return on Investment- profitability ratio. Describes the relationship between turnover and costs.
SEO - Search Engine Optimisation- optimising content for search, i.e. adapting content using various tools and techniques to increase the visibility of products on Amazon.
SKU - Stock Keeping Unit- an individual product number that also contains information such as type, size or colour.
SPA - Sponsored Products Ads- stands for sponsored product. SPA products are displayed in Amazon listings with a sponsorship designation, which at the same time guarantees significantly better visibility in search results.
SBA - Sponsored Brands Ads- Similar to SPA, SBA refers to the designation of sponsorship, in this case- an entire brand of products.
SDA - Sponsored Display Ads- a form of sponsored advertising for retailers. In addition to sponsorship signage, SDA provides the opportunity to increase the number of images or graphics showing the product.
TOS - Terms of Service- a list of the terms and conditions of cooperation and use of the Amazon sales platform.
USPP - Unique Selling Point- identifies a unique feature of a product that sets it apart from similar ones in the category. The USP provides an opportunity to stand out from the competition, so ingenuity is invaluable in this case.
